This is the former University of Maryland, Munich Campus Building, located on the former U.S. Army base of McGraw Kaserne. Now occupied by Polizeipräsidium München. Address is 17 Soyerhof Straße.

When McGraw Kaserne was functioning as an Army Post, the lower floor (in the center) was the Military Commissary (grocery store) for the US Military in the Munich area.

  • Being a "bagger" at the Commissary was a pretty well-paying job back in the '70s. The beef that was sold in commissaries was typically from Argentina. Always loved the EES ice cream. Dad liked the Neapolitan and would pop open the carton and slice squares to serve. Also have fond memories of the many Canada Dry soda flavors.
