Kaila Devi Temple

Cause of Establishment: Shri Kishan Singhji was a religious hearted person and he was the devotee of Goddess Kaila Devi. For her worship, he built a temple in near about 1920 A.D.

Brief of the Diety: In this temple there are two idols, one of Kaila Devi and the other of Shri Laxmi ji, Bot the idols are made of stone and are more than 160 years old. They are 3’-6” high. The sculpture name is not known. Though made of stone, the idols are extremely charming and give a life like impression.

Religious sect to which the temple belongs: The temple belongs to the Shakta cult of Hindus, but Kaila Devi is worshipped not only the Shakta but all Hindus in large.

Important Architectural Characteristics:
The temple has wonderful architectural contrivance. The frontage of the temple shows meticulously done mosaic work and floral relief work. The shikhar of the temple is very high and a chowk infront of the Jagmohan is opened. On either side, there is a verandah. In the circumambulatory paths also, various statuettes of white marble may be seen.

Material of Construction: Lime stone, building stone, marble. Etc.

Total Construction Time: 10 years.
Religious aspects of temple: All Hindus visit the temple, women in particular hold the goddess in great devotion. During Navratras people visit the temple in large number.

Unique features of the temple: The temple is situated at the foot of hill and surrounded by a charming thick wood, because of its idyllic beauty, natural surroundings, plants, trees and creepers, shrives and palm trees the place at once captivates, the heat of the visitors who find deep peace prevailing here.

Festivals & Fairs in Temple (Main Events): In the navratras of Chaitra and Ashwin fairs are organized here under the auspices of Devasthan Vibhag. Shatchandi Yatra is also performed. In addition to all these, all other Hindu festivals are celebrated here.
