Former site of Elmira, a railroad junction and station on the Burlington, Cedar Rapids and Northern Railroad, later the Rock Island
Railroad, where the lines south to Iowa City and east to Clinton branched off. There was a station and hotel here, but a town never
developed arount it. The remains of the rail yard are still apparent, as are the roadbeds for a wye to the north east.
