German WW2 Bunker for Widerstandsnest 65, Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer, Omaha D-3 Exit, Le Ruquet
Regelbau 667 Small Bunker for 50mm KwK (left flanked)
This is all that is left of Widerstandnest 65. On D-Day there was a significant anti-tank trench in front of this position. Americans brought dozers and filled it up with the shale on the beach.
This is one of the most famous bunkers, see in a WW2 photo of troops climbing a bluff.
Inside is at 5-cm Kw.K (Kampfwagen-Kanone) l/42 orL/60, the type used in AFV.
Great street view and a plaque on the side, from the AA 467th, unit that subdued it on D-Day
