  • Vir Singh Palace or Purana Mahal was built under Bundela Raja Vir Singh ju Dev. The foundetion have been laid on Sunday The 5th Magh Sudi 1675 V.S. December 1618.It is considered the finest example of Bundela architecture. A style that combine elements Indian and Persian and was cited as the Jewel of Bundela. But The Purana Mahal is unsanctified and unlucky. In 1635 A.D.Shah Jhan came here after the end of the war (Bundela Rebellion).Nobody lived here since 1635.Bundela were defeated. Mughal forces made a number of Bundels and their women prisoner. They were sent to Shah Jhan who stayed in old palace.Where men prisoners were slain and Royal Women compelled to serve his pleasure. A few days Shahjhan enjoyed them at last leave them and proceeded on his journey to Agra.Royal Bundela Women committed sucied themself.
