  • Masitpal Kot (Masit Pal Kot) The original name of the village was Masiti. When Sainis'moved to this village from a nearby village Gahot, and shared half of the land with the Muslam Rajputs, the name in the revenue records was changed to Masitpal Kot. That happened in the beginning of the 19th century. The Pioneer ancestor CHAITU(from Granthi Family)was instrumental in striking a friendly deal with the Muslam Rajputs and that friendly relations continued till 1947 when the Muslams from the village safely moved to Pakistan. It is about 6KM east of Tanda Urmar.Although the village was located in a remote place but produced professionals in various fields such as Teaching, Medicine and Engineering. Great emphasis was given on education as the land holdings shrunk due to increase in population and the economic conditions deteriorated. The Younger generation now is migratiing to urban areas and moving to foreign countries. • Hi All: I would like some one to add a picture of the village and orchards. You guys from Masiti are smart and I expect you to up-date the information. What happened to our mango trees which were on the path leading to the cremation ground? I live in the U.S.A. and need some contact.
  • Last year I requested some pictures of the village but no luck. I appreciate the guests from the adjoining villages who were kind enough to add some comments. Anxious to see some comments from the younger generation of Masiti who are supposed to be computer savoy.

  • Hi Maqbool- it was exciting to know about you and your grandfather. Although I do not remember the name of you Gpa but I do remember Mukhtar Ali who was a big landlord in Masiti. The village community lived in great harmony and we lived and helped each other all the time. Did you happen to read the village history which I wrote a few years back. Please respond. I sincerely request that we should continue communicating on regular basis and find more things which could be of common interest to both of us. I also like to send you my e-mail address. Thanks for the comments you wrote above.
  • Great- looking forward to see the pictures.
