The village of Korneyevka was founded in 1906 by ethnic German Mennonites from the Black Sea area. On the map of 1925 the village is called Korneyevskiy. According to the State Archive of the Russian Federation, fund (Fond) 423, inventory (Opis') 1, file (Delo) 247, sheet (List) 214, the village in 1926 was already called Korneyevka. On the map from 1928, the village is also called Korneyevka.
