Hovland is an unincorporated community in section 20 of Cook County, Minnesota. The community is located between Grand Marais and Grand Portage on Minnesota State Highway 61. Hovland is located within the Grand Portage State Forest. It was first settled in 1888. A post office was established in 1889.
