Name of one village in Jeron's' Beteng (inside the fortress) of Yogyakarta Palace. The name comes from the word 'gamel'. Gamelan is the name for servants in the palace palace which served to maintain a horse. Thus, it can be concluded that in ancient times Gamelan is a place of settlement of the servants in the palace of Yogyakarta Palace in charge of taking care of the horses owned by the palace.
