Formerly under the patronage of the abbey of Vicogne.
In 1735 transferred to the Norbertine of Ninove.
Gothic church destroyed by fire in 1838.
Current neoclassical church built from 1838-1842; integration of the still existing late-Gothic choir. Tower was completed in 1860.
