COMPANY INTRODUCTION
Yonca-Onuk JV is situated in Tuzla-Istanbul, has 7000m2 covered area and air-conditioned composite production shop. It has the capacity to build high-speed boats up to 50m in length and 400 tonnes displacement in advanced composites. State-of-the-art pleasure, commercial and naval craft in advanced composites have been designed and built since 1989. The production is full compliance with AQAP quality assurance system, with engineering and production as per Det Norske Veritas (DNV) classification rules and Naval standards.

MRTP® (Multi Role Tactical Platform) CONCEPT
Multi Role Tactical Platform (MRTP®) concept was created and developed by Kaan-Ekber Onuk. Objectives of MRTP® concept are to develop and demonstrate Multi Role Tactical Platform employing advance composites and technologies to; MINIMIZE; Cost, Boat size, Crew size, Signatures and MAXIMIZE; Range, Mission / Weapon payload, Speed, Shallow Water Capabilities, Reliability / Availability / Maintainability, Modularity / Reconfigurability, Multi Mission capabilities.

EXISTING PROJECTS
Yonca-Onuk Joint Venture is the builder of the "Kaan15" class ONUK MRTP15® Fast Intervention Craft, the "Kaan29" class 90 tonne ONUK MRTP29® Fast Patrol Boats and the ‘’Kaan33’’ class ONUK MRTP33® Fast Patrol/Attack Craft for the Turkish Coast Guard.

ONUK MRTP15® PROJECT ("Kaan15" Class)
Winning the “FIC (Fast Intervention Craft) for the Turkish Coast Guard” Project by UDI (Under Secretary of Defense Industry), in a tender open to international competition in 1997, 18 (eighteen) units of “Kaan15” boats (16,70m, 64+ knots, DNV Certified) have been delivered to the Turkish Coast Guard (TCG) and 2 (Two) boats exported as of July 2003. Final acceptance (which occurs after 12 mounts of service and clearing all the warranty issues) of all 18 boats has already been finalized. At the request of the TCG, Fast Intervention Craft Project is planned to continue with the production of “Improved Fast Intervention Craft” ONUK MRTP20®.

Pakistan Navy has ordered 2(two) units of ONUK MRTP15® Fast Intervention Craft to Yonca-Onuk JV as a result of a tender open to international competition. The boats were constructed and delivered to the Pakistan Navy in July/August 2004.

In addition to the above mentioned production, 3 (three) “Kaan15” class boat were delivered to the “Directorate General of Turkish Customs Enforcement” as of October 2004. 3 (three) ONUK MRTP16® (Slightly larger and longer version of Kaan15) under construction at the shipyard.

Directorate General of Health Turkish Borders and Coasts has ordered a series of ONUK MRTP16® boats through UDI. 4 (four) boats were delivered as of June 2005.

ONUK MRTP29® PROJECT ("Kaan29" Class)
10 (ten) boats have been ordered from Yonca-Onuk JV by UDI following the “90 tonne Coast Guard Boat for the Turkish Coast Guard” tender open to international competition in 1998. 9 (nine) units of “Kaan 29” Class boats (31,70m, 48+ knots) under DNV classification (HSLC PATROL R2) are operational. Boat number 10 of 90 tonne series were constructed and delivered to the Turkish Coast Guard in July 2004 as ONUK MRTP33® (35,60m, 120 tonne 47+ knots).

ONUK MRTP33® PROJECT
ONUK MRTP33® Fast Patrol/Attack Boat (35,60m, 110 tonne, 46+ knots) has been developed as a longer version of the ONUK MRTP29®, with increased payload and better sea keeping for the future needs of the Turkish and worldwide customers. ONUK MRTP33® may feature a CODAG propulsion system for increased mission flexibility and operational reliability. Turkish Coast Guard has decided to continue “the 90 tonne Coast Guard Project” with ONUK MRTP33® boats. 5 (five) “Kaan33” are in the service as of April 2006 and 3 (three) under construction at the shipyard as the continuation of the project. ONUK MRTP33® can be configured to suit various customer requirements.

Above mentioned projects are the only Turkish designed / Turkish built projects within the portfolio of the Turkish Ministry of Defense.


NEW MEMBERS OF MRTP® FAMILY

From 13 to 38m MRTP® (Multi Role Tactical Platform) Fast Craft family is developed to offer an advanced versatile platform series to perform various tactical missions in the most demanding conditions.
ONUK MRTP16® is the extended and improved version of the “Kaan15” class ONUK MRTP15® of the Turkish Coast Guard.
ONUK MRTP20® Improved Fast Intervention Craft is designed to exceed the increasingly though requirements of the naval and law enforcement forces to control the littoral and the coastal waters. With greatly enhanced performance envelop, ONUK MRTP20® is designed to outperform all the existing or known-planned-for-construction boats in the 17 - 21 m. range (75 knots at SS1-2, 60 knots at SS3)
With their very high speed, high maneuverability, superior sea keeping and shallow water capabilities, MRTP® boats are ideally suited for the mastery of the brown waters. The flexible design will allow the installation of different surveillance, observation, rescue and weapon systems to perform military and paramilitary missions. Advanced composite structures allow built-in capabilities such as low signature levels, very low life cycle operation cost and a great flexibility of adaptation.
