Jagri

Jagri is a village in Babek district of Nakhichevan Autonomious Republic in Azerbaijan.

Since the antic era there was Armenian fortress of Jahouk - center of the Jahouk district of Siunik province of Historical Armenia. Up to the 1920 there was Armenian populated town of Jahouk. At 1920 attached to Azerbaijani SSR and Armenian population left this village that get a name of Jagri. Jahouk had two Armenian churches: Surb Hovhannes & Surb Shoghakat', fate of this churches is unknown. At southeastern corner of the town was Armenian cemetery that at 1940 contained over the 600 rear Armenian cross stones. At 1980 there were about 150-155 ones. At 1990th the cemetery was annihilated by Azeris, no trace remained.
