  • YHAI camp at Kasol
  • Kasol once a sleepy village is now a boisterous place during the months from May to October. You see Internet Cafes, restaurants offering a multi cusine menu with Israeli, Italian, Thai, Chinese, Indian and Tibetan food, openair Cafes selling junk food - burgers, pizzas and salads, Pool parlous and telephone booths all favoured by the large number of Israeli and European so called freak crowd. The parvati valley is famous for its cannabis or Hashish which grows abundently here and you can se it being openly smoked among the visitors. During the busier months and if you're not part of this crowd you can always venture north for pleasant walks through thick forests of oak, fir and pine along the Parvati river tumbling over rocks and boulders on its way to join the main River Beas in the Kullu valley.

  • I read this blog and finalized to visit Kasol. What a journey...I am still in awe. I went for the backpack trip to Kasol with a group called TripHippie. Looks like they are into organizing camping and trekking in Himachal, Uttarakhand etc. The campsite in Chalal where I stayed, was mind blowing. Serene, calm and hush hush....you know. My suggestion to you all, must try the lunch at Manikaran gurudwara, explore Kasol market. Also if you have one extra day to spend then visit to Malana or Rasol. I visited both :). I am posting the link here if anyone of you want to check out there plan.. https://www.triphippie.com/home/513-kasol-backpacking-trip.html
