  • Just 30 kms. from Rishikesh via the Barrage and 26 kms. via Ram Jhoola, this holy spot abounds in religious fervour, mythological significance and picturesque surroundings. According to legend, this place has derived its name from Lord Shiva. It is believed that it was here that Lord Shiva consumed the venom which came out during the ‘Samudra Manthan’. Due to this his throat became blue in colour which in Hindi means ‘Neelkanth’. Hence, this place is famous as Neelkanth Mahadev. The centuries old temples here peserve in their fold, the celestial aura and the spiritual ambience you are looking for. At 926 meters, amidst three valleys ( Vishnukoot, Brahmakoot and Manikoot ) and on the confluence of the Madhumati and Pankaja rivers, awaits Neelkantha Mahadev. Neelkanth Mahadev is 24 kms. from Swargashram. This 12 kms. trekkable road is surrounded by dense forests, a sight every trekker would love to behold
