Kurumaishi (A wheel shaped rock) (Nemuro)

You can see Hanasaki Port, the highest catch in Japan, from Cape Hanasaki. Hanasaki Lighthouse stands on Cape Hanasaki.
Kurumaishi is located just under Hanasaki Lighthouse. Its shape spreads out radially. With a diameter of 6m and its shape, Kurumaishi is unique in all the world. It is designated as a natural monument. There are also many small formations, with diameters of 1～3m, around the biggest formation. You can feel the mystery of the earth.
It takes 10 minutes by bus on the Hanasaki Line leaving from the Nemuro Station Terminal next to the JR Nemuro Station. Please get off the bus at ‘Kurumaishi Iriguchi ‘(the entrance to Kurumaishi). It takes 10 minutes on foot from there.
