GOINDWAL (31°22'N, 75"9'E) This is the spot where the ancient east-west highway crossed the River Beas. It is the first ever place of Sikh pilgrimage so designated by its third Master, [[Guru Amar Das]]. After his anointment as Guru in 1552, he shifted from Khadur to Goindval. In 1559, Guru Amar Das commenced the digging of a "boali" or well. For more information see:
