The world’s third largest mosque is currently under construction in the Bay of Algiers and is scheduled to be completed end of 2016. The mosque will be able to accommodate 120,000 worshippers in total, with the main prayer hall alone accommodating up to 35,000 people. The world's tallest minaret will tower 265m (870ft) into the sky, and will also be the tallest building in all of Africa.
