A small town of 3000 people in a hidden valley of the Cordillera Quimsa Cruz at 3000 m with a mild climate. It is a center for visiting local mines, elfin forests, climbing expeditions and visits to the coca fields further down the valley. The road comes in from Konani on the Oruro'La Paz route.

  • The Hostal Rancho Colibri is the only tourist hotel in Quime. Arriving in Quime go fout blocks UPHILL from the police station on the main plaza, turn right and go one block. There you will see the hostal up the mountain inside of some 100 foot high trees. The bus arrives from la Paz about 6PM so the owner turns on a light hanging from one of the trees to act as a sort of guide.
