With increasingly warmer summers, many Amsterdamers enjoy the newly created "city beaches". One of the best is on the brand new
artificial island of IJburg, christened by locals as "Blijburg" and since the island is still being built, the location changes(slighty) every
year. Easily reachable by Tram, car or bicycle. This beach is on the sweetwater inland lake "Markermeer", the water is clean and
normally warmer than that of Hollands North Sea resorts. There is a decent "cafe" and some toilet facilities.
