  • Jamui was upgraded to a district . It was previously a Subdivision in Munger District. It is ubnder Munger Commissionery. River Kiul flows very close to this town. Jamui railway station is at a distance of 6 Kms. from the town.The station is located in Mallehpur but named as Jamui. The high school is named HCE School and was established in the 1898. This school is the oldest one. The KKM College is very close to this school.There was a Jilani Girls Middle School here close to Jamui Police Station which has been upgraded to a Girls High School. Maharajganj, Mahsauri and Jamui are the main markets in Jamui. I visited Jamui several times as my elder brother Shri Kamta Prasad who was an employee at Registry Office here constructed a house of his own here which is locatd in Mohalla Sirchand Nawada.
