Village Sorty - one of the oldest villages of the Irkutsk region, year of the basis approximately 1660. Earlier in village there was a collective farm-millionaire "Power of Councils", the large enterprise for repair of selsko-economic technics - СХТ, an open-cast mine on limestone extraction. Now to be in decline. There is a medical assistant's point, high school (to 9 classes), the Recreation centre, library, mail of the Russian Federation, 3-4 shops, a bakery. Approximately 100 court yard. The population nearby 500-600 persons, basically old men (pensioners), needy. The able-bodied population has left to Irkutsk, Angarsk, Usolye-Siberian, Sayansk, etc. cities.
