Paoshan No. 2 Reservoir
Industrial development in the Hsinchu area has been growing by leaps and bounds in recent years, along with expansion of its high-tech sector. Naturally the public and industrial use of water resources has also been growing apace, to the point where now there have even been water shortages. So as to satisfy these ever-growing water demands while at the same time meeting sustainable development requirements,plans for a second Paoshan Reservoir were initiated, with a total budget of NT$15.6 million.

Once completed, the reservoir will offer a daily supply of 282 thousand tons of water, and will work in conjunction with the first Paoshan Reservoir and the Lungen Diversion Wier on the Touchien River to supply the water requirements into the year 2021 of Hsinchu County (including Chupei City, Hsinfeng Township, Hukou Township, Chutung Township, Paoshan Township, Emei Township, Peipu Township, Hsinpu Town, and Chiunglin Township) and Hsinchu City.
