History and Origin:
According to our traditions, we are so-called because we are said to get our name because we were created by the god Chandra to perform sacred ceremonies for the god Shiva. These sacred ceremonies are known as som yajna. We are concentrated in the town Sagwara. The community are one of the oldest Brahmin communities in Gujarat and we are the part of them.
