Former Russian-American Rubber Manufacture, built in 1880s with investments and technology from the United States. It was the
largest American manufacture in Europe at that time, and the most advanced in Russia. Its main building has a half-mile long red
brick facade on the canal. During the Soviet period it was nationalized and renamed "Krasny Treugolnik" (Red Triangle) and
continued production of rubber for various industrial needs, such as automotive tires, cable isolation, medical and
pharmaceutical equipment, rubber gloves, boots, etc.. Now abandoned, the area is poisoned by toxic wastes not disposed
