Myllysaari Museums (Valkeakoski (Town))

Finland / Pirkanmaa / Valkeakoski / Valkeakoski (Town) / Kanavanranta, 3C

The old factory buildings by the canal at Myllysaari host two museums in a historical industrial environment:
Finnish Football Museum (The more than one hundred years of Finnish football are exhibited in form of objects and pictures, garments, prizes and souvenirs. Among others there is a fully equipped dressing room from the 1930s.)
Valkeakoski City Museum (The city museum illustrates local history from prehistoric to modern times. One of the attractions is the office of the legendary mill owner Juuso Walden. During his patronage and in close cooperation with the city administration, Valkeakoski became a thriving industrial town in the 1950s and 60s. Juuso Walden was also engaged in the welfare of the townspeople in many ways. He was a legend, whom everybody knew and who knew everybody.)
