Buckley has three areas of common land; the Lower Common, Middle Common and Higher Common. They are green spaces and recreation grounds maintained by Flintshire County Council

This, the Higher Common, is home to a large central duckpond and a playpark. During the 1990s several clutches of trees were planted by local volunteers. It is popular with families, fishermen, children and dogwalkers.
