Parc Vigier (Nice)

France / Provence-Alpes-Cote-dAzur / Nice / Boulevard Franck Pilatte

Finding Vigier Park huddled at the foot of Mont Boron, in the densely built harbour area, is definitely not an easy task. However, the spectacular natural beauty of the spot is well worth all the effort. The unique feature of Vigier Park is the fact that it stretches along the coastline of the Mediterranean sea until the very base of Cape Nice. The park is relatively small, but its elongated shape covers a rather long distance, offering an excellent opportunity to watch the Nice harbour at work from from under the cooling shades of trees. As far as vegetation is concerned, Park Vigier is a typical Mediterranean park with an assembly of palms and other exotic trees. It’s also the first patented garden of the famous Phoenix Canariensis, the official palm tree expert for the region of Cote d’Azure.
