This stupendously large building was constructed in the 1960s to house the large transformer plant of the Westinghouse Electric Company. What was produced here required special rail cars to haul away, of which models still exist. Scrolling down to ABB/Westinghouse in the following link shows the resulting product in miniature;

Westinghouse later sold to ABB, a Swiss company that eventually closed the plant altogether in 1998.

The building was purchased in 2010 by Progress Rail Services, a division of Caterpillar, who will use it to construct locomotives for their Electro-Motive Diesel subsidiary in order to compete for upcoming domestic passenger locomotive orders.
