  • Bangkok's original international airport. It was built by the U.S. Air Force in the 1960s to support the U.S. forces in Vietnam. The U.S. pulled out in 1970 and it served as the primary airport for the capital until Suvarnabhumi Airport opened in 2007. The eastern part of the airport is managed by the Royal Thai Air Force which houses its logistics and VIP transport aircraft here.
