It is considered to be the best medical college in Rajasthan in terms of its academic performance and excellence.It has been producing successful doctors and specialists in its 50 years of existence.he group of hospitals attached to it provide ample scope for interaction with the patients and learning from them. The medical students graduating from this medical college have earned name and fame in India and abroad. The faculty is highly experienced and they impart their clinical skills to their students in the best possible ways they can. The college is fully funded by the Govt. of Rajasthan and it provides all required facilities to the students whenever needed. Getting admission in SP Medical College is considered as a foundation stone for building a highly reputed career as one of the best doctors of the nation.
The college has 100 seats for MBBS and 63 for the post grad students. and 18 in diploma one seat in DM cardiology

Sardar Patel Medical College was established as an institution of national importance with the objects to develop patterns of teaching in Undergraduate and Post-graduate Medical Education so as to demonstrate a high standard of Medical Education in India; to bring together in one place educational facilities of the highest order for the training of personnel in all important branches of health activity; and to attain self-sufficiency in Post-graduate Medical Education. The Institute has comprehensive facilities for teaching, research and patient-care.
