Sports-Cultural Complex of Eng. Alimoradian
Construction of Sports-Cultural Complex of Eng. Alimoradian on the East border of Nahavand and on the side of the belt-road of the city in an area of 136,000 square meter started in 1371 (1992-93) by endeavors of Eng. Mohammed Hossein Alimoradian.
The 1st phase of this plan covers : 1. Covered multi-purpose sport stadiums 2. Open lands for exercises and games. Other developing plans, which include covered swimming pool and construction of the athlete and sports science faculty building will be performed in other phases.
Covered multi-purpose sport stadium
This stadium has an area of 8200 square meter. There is a one-story surface which is oval shaped in the middle, measuring 1200 square meter and is used for games. The rest of the area is surrounding platforms for the spectators in two floors measuring 3800 square meter and there are also some attachments to the covered stadium. These attachments are as follows :
The ground floor of the hall includes two separate parts as change room and also the rest rooms of the competing teams which are made for two teams in two different parts. Additionally, this floor includes cloakroom and rest room for the disabled, central engine room, lounge and rest room for the referees (judges), exercise hall for table tennis, wrestling, karate, body building plus sauna and bathroom for both dry and steamed types, buffet, first aid chamber, administration office, electricity room, required storage rooms and also bathrooms for the spectators. Each of above has been built based on the requirements and needed functionality with special materials , tiles and ceramics in all the grounds and wall. The shortest distance between these places and the gaming venue and entrance door has been considered.
The 1st floor of the stadium includes the entrance corridor of the spectators, information stance and checking point, spectators buffet, spectators' stances, press room, audio and lights controlling room as well as a VIP stance.
The infrastructure of the building is a combination of concrete and steel. So that the ground floor has a concrete structure whereas the 1st floor has a metal structure and total weight of the hall roof which is about 500 tons is relayed to the cutting walls and the pillars and eventually to the foundation by four main roof trusses.
The architectural texture of the ground floor is concrete with bricks outlook that comes as an amalgamation of traditional and modern architecture. This outlook is changed into 10 mm scorbutic green glass in the 1st floor, which gives a stunning beauty to the whole set up due to its harmony with the roof. The type of the roof is "sandwich panel" which apart from being light weighed, acts as an insulator for noise and warmth. Therefore in view of the 5000 meter area and location of the plan in a moderate mountainous area, the technical values of this state-of-the art insulation method catering to avoid waste of energy is fully manifested.
In four equally divided parts, the hall has fire-extinguishing system. From heating aspect, it has central engine room, which distributes the heat by "unit heater" and a radiator.
From air ventilation aspect, the hall is equipped with ventilation room (or air producing room) which contains 8 fans. The walls are built in double-layer which are essentially important to avoid waste of energy. Capacity of the stadium for spectators is 40,000 heads.
Open yards for exercises and games
The football ground with dual functionality for games and exercises has been built based on FIFA standards. This ground has a capacity for 15,000 spectators. A jogging court has been provided in the surrounding of this ground, beside of which a 3-floor platform for VIP guests, change room as well as spectators’ rest rooms have been provided. The football ground enjoys a unique drainage, blockage and granulation so that in every climate, let it be in heavy rains or after heavy rains could still remain functional.
The handball ground is only built for exercises. It should be pointed that the handball ground for games is built inside the covered stadium.
The volleyball ground has been built in 3 separate grounds or exercises. Same as the handball, the volleyball ground for games has been provided inside the covered multi-purpose stadium.
The basketball ground includes two separate yards for exercises and same as handball and volleyball, the matches of basketball are as well held inside the covered stadium.
The tennis ground has been built in two separate yards, which have been protected by laced fences due to special nature of this game. Grounding of the yard has been made based on global standards and is a combination of clay soil and windy sand with a proportion of 60-40. The purpose of this ground is for both games and exercises.
Among other enclosures of this complex , there are two round shaped suites which are prepared for guards point, information stance and ticket booth , the outlook of which has been decorated by the unique Sanandaj red blasted stones. This area is the main entrance of the complex as well.
As per an agreement between Eng. M.H. Alimoradian and The National Olympics Committee, this complex has been devoted to The National Olympics Committee of I.R. Iran based on the founder’s devoting letter to be used as the sports center for Olympics championship in west of the country. It should be mentioned that as per strict emphasize of the founder, a part of the facilities and the usage time should be allocated to the sport activities of Nahavand people and the future students of the Sports sciences faculty.
