paper factory (Tayum)

was built in the 70's during the marcos reign. This factory helped the people get jobs, but in turn made the environment sick, with pollution especially through the river, the trees cut off for paper. it is partly demolished and is not used for several years. but if your visit this place you still will see some remains of large metal gears and the like.

  • it used to be called the cellophil resources corp, it signalled the uprising of many abrenians (thus the first wave of NPAs) because it has not only used up the natural resources of the locals but also poisoned the precious abra river, caused people to die and children to be born with birth defects due to chemicals carelessly being disposed into the rivers. the place is now owned by abra mining, selling the huge metals like junk to other companies.
