This is the birth place of a lot of forward thinker Zamindars who devoted their lives for the upliftment of the poor and the downtrodent of the society. The renowned B.P Mandal, Chairman of the Mandal Commission, was the native of this very village. The Honorary Magistrate, and the Zamindar Rai Bahadur Keshav Prasad Mandal was also native of this village. This village is basically a Yadav bastion who have dominated this area for a considerable time.The historical and glorious village, where All India Yadav Mahasabha, had its origin. The home of Late Lamented Ras Bihari Lal Mandal, Zamindar, one of the Founder Members of Indian National Congress from Bihar, fought against British and struggled for the cause of backward classes. his sons Bhubneshwari Prasad Mandal,MLC in 1924,Kamleshwari Prasad Mandal, MLC in 1937 and Bindhyeshwari Prasad Mandal, former Chief Minister of Bihar and Chairman of All India Backward Classes Commission, made their own valuable contribution in the political history of Bihar and India.
