Bisected by Route 2 in the 1950s. The subdivision south of the highway has been known as Indian Village since its creation (1955-1959) due to the naming of the streets after Native American tribes. The section north of the highway remained developed at its 1959 level until the early 1990s when several new homes went up along Bulette Road in Acton, Lillian Road, and on the old Karner family pastures. Since then, the name Fort Pond Hill has become applied to this neighborhood stretching from Newtown Road, up Fort Pond Hill Road into Acton (Newtown Road) and to Fort Pond Road in Acton.
