  • St. Mary's mission is approximately 125km from kitwe post office. It is situated in Lufwanyama district of the copperbelt province. It was founded by the friars minor conventual in 1948 under the traditonal land allocation. It had 27 outstation churches but now have been reduced to 19 because solwezi diocese has picked some. The friars had a both the wood and metal workshops, established the hydro-power machanism on the banks of the Ngwena stream. The schools in lufwanyama district allmost 90% were founded by the friars. unfortunate non is being run by the religious and there is no metal workshop,no hydro-power genertion. The mission now needs support from the diocese and abroad to keep on running.
