square, road junction
The Charter Square name was first given to the large roundabout at the junction of Furnival Gate and Charter Row in Sheffield city centre, which was demolished in late 2016 as part of the Sheffield Retail Quarter development. Charter Square is now being reconstructed as a public square to the south of the former road junction, which is now a through route, behind the brand new Light cinema which backs onto Charter Square.
