This water tower are one amongst oldest towers in Riga and own unique name, women name: Alise's (Alice) watertower (name got from short and narrow street along this tower). Tower project made by popular Riga city architect Wilhelms Bokslaff (1858-1945). Tower construction was done in 1910 and cost in total 139 429 Russia's golden rubles.

Tower now are with special history which made Alise tower not alike to other towers in Riga. In 1937 tower was not enough in height to serve water in connected streets and was seriously reconstructed.

Reconstruction result are, why tower top part today looks unusual extended. During reconstruction tower roof was elevated for 7,5 meters! Nowadays the thickness of tower walls are about 2 m. and total height ~40 m.
