Luther Burbank Middle School was first designated a California Distinguished School in 1985 and again in 1994 for its overall excellence and commitment to middle school education. Luther serves about 1,100 students and provides a high quality academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular experience for all students. A variety of special programs, including the Gifted and Talented Education Program and special education classes, are offered in addition to the regular school program. Our program provides a foundation and a focused series of experiences for personal and academic growth.

The school facilities consist of ten buildings, which include a library, an auditorium, and a gymnasium with locker rooms. The surrounding campus includes a large grass athletic field, an asphalt-topped play area with green belts, and landscaped areas throughout. The school is air conditioned, attractively maintained, and located in a residential area in the northwest area of the City of Burbank.
