Johannisborg was a castle in Norrköping, Sweden, that has long been demolished.
Construction began in the 1610's and was 'completed' in 1639 when the roof was finally added. It was, however, not well maintained and did nothing to prevent the looting and burning of the city (and the castle) in 1719 by the Russians. Deconstruction began in 1720 when it was used to supply building material for the reconstruction of the city, leaving only a gate house - which burned in 1806.
The gate house (on the SW side) was restored in 1934 and is today the only remnant of the original buildings.
