The Rachmaninov Institute (Tambov)

The Rachmaninov Institute is one of Russia's oldest establishments for music education. It was founded in 1882 by the Imperial Russian Music Society and, for more than one hundred years, it has been Public and State Conservatory, and Technical school of Music, and College of Music. Today the Rachmaninov Institute supposes two stages of education: higher and specialized secondary programs of education. There is the College of Music & the Institute of Music as well as all forms of additional vocational educational training in its structure. It is also affiliated to the Music School for Children in Tambov. The Rachmaninov Institute has also a department especially for it's foreign students. We offer preparatory programs according two types of higher educational diplomas in all areas of music: a four year program, ending with the Bachelor of Music Art Degree and a five year program, ending with a Specialist (Doctor) of Music Art Degree. Since 2003 the Post-graduate Course has been established. There are two specialities: "Theory and Practice of Training and Upbringing (Music)" and "Music Art".
