Rural locality (a selo) and the administrative center of Zemlyanskoye Rural Settlement, Semiluksky District, Voronezh Oblast, Russia. The population was 3,276 (2021 Census).
The history of the ancient village starts in 1657 when following the instructions of Alexey Mikhaylovich soldiers founded a military settlementon on a bank of a small river. Five years later the settlement was enclosed in vallation and a deep ditch was dug out. In case of a siege the fortress had a deep well with a constant supply of fresh water and a 60 meters long subway to the small river. In 1663 Zemlyansk received a city status.
