  • Madampam Lourd Ferona Church was the only Roman Catholic Church in this area and was considered as one of the oldest church in the Malabar Area. The Church is constructed in its present structure during 1960's, by the the migrant christian community from Kottayam Diasorce. This church is situated on the top of a hill with its panoramic view facing to the Valapattanam Rivar and a small township developed on the river bank called Madampam Town, with many shops and a Liberary which became the meeting place for the reired personals and unemployed youths. Adjuscent to the town the well known High School Maryland Higher Secondary school, which was the only school in its caliber. Maryland Higher Secondary school is managed by the Madampam Lourd Ferona Church, and the school has its own identity as one of the best Higher Secondary Schools in the District of Kannur. vijayan k.k.
