This is the hospital where the first test-tube baby was born in the late 60s/early 70s(?). Dr Patrick Steptoe, a modest man, was the pioneer in this field. I was born here on 1st November 1953, by natural means of course, my sister in law works here as a state registered nurse, and the prompt intervention of the dedicated staff saved my 72 year old mum from womb cancer 2 years ago.
