Located in the heart of Al-Muheisna, Medawi Hospital is a family owned general hospital serving the community of Dubai and its re-gional surroundings. Respectful of that local community, the design combines traditional Arabic culture influences and modern function-alism. This health care campus site includes the 80 bed main hospi-tal building, a nurses hostel and two service buildings. The hospital itself contains 16 specialty clinics for out-patients, 52 room + 5 VIP suits for in-patients, and 5 operating theatres. Other support facili-ties include a pharmacy, health club, staff accommodation, under-ground parking and other supporting medical and non-medical facilities and services. The diagnosis centre in Medawi Hospital is considered to be one of the largest and most advanced centres de-veloped by a private sector hospital in UAE, and uses the latest technologies of radiology and nuclear medical services. Other tech-nologies also can be found in non-medical spaces, such as the state of the art main lobby, which includes interactive screens and 3D holograms providing guests with basic information about healthcare and different medical fields. This technology is then integrated with the interior design of the hospital to create a welcoming environment using a residentially inspired combination of warm colours and fin-ishing materials.
