There are quite a few extinct volcanoes that can be seen on the trip down to the Grand Canyon overlook at Toroweep, and also on the return trip coming back to either Colorado City or St. George, Utah. This area was active in recent times by the geologic time scale. It is also a beautiful area to see. More info and photo:
