The accommodation is set on the floodplain of the Komati River, a mere 50 meters from the waters edge. The riverfront is well kept and guests may enjoy relaxing walks all along the river and through the riverine forests.

Over 350 species of birds are found in the area of the Southern Kruger Park. Komati River Chalets is home to many of these species with exceptional waterfowl bird watching. There are Hippos and Crocodiles in the river right in front of your chalets for your viewing pleasure. Other smaller mammal species seen from time to time include, Bushbuck, Duiker, Vervet Monkeys, Thick-tailed Bush Babies, and Banded Mongoose (to name a few).
