Vukovar's block situated on the elevated Vukovar plateau between the Lijeva bara marshland and the Danube.
About 5.000 inhabitants.
One of the most devastated town's areas in the Homeland war (see picture above) which eradicated the past vistas of old Šokadija style houses with massive gates.
Named after a toll ramp called mitnica which was placed on the entrance to the settlement and used for toll and tax charging (for town entrance and merchandise sales on the towns fair grounds).
The oldest streets; Široki put (Wide road), Prosina (Begger's) i Ratarska (Farmer's), are mentioned as far as the early years of the 18th century.
