Pylon of Ramesses II (Luxor)

The pylon of the temple of Luxor which forms its northern facade was built during the reign of Ramesses II (c. 1279-1214 BC). The gate itself is flanked by seated colossal statues of the king and a pair of obelisks, one of them still in situ.
