This is a large visitor's center, built on the site of an antiquated rest stop, which is shown here. (These areal shots predate its construction.) It offers access to a river, bike trails, and other amenities, and houses a Dunkin Donuts, a Baskin Robbins, and a state police outpost. It is definitely worth stopping at if your trip takes you through this area.

The other old rest stop, on the other side of the highway, still stands, but is blocked off by concrete barriers. It too will be replaced with a new building, albeit more modest.
