Former Glinkovskoe Cemetery (Bogorodskoe from XIX centuty) was founded in 1782 as one of the three cemeteries in Vologda, appearing after the plague.
At the expense of the parishioners in 1830 was built the existing Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Under the name of the church cemetery became known Bogorodskoe.
The architectural ensemble of the cemetery complements the brick Chapel over the tomb of Blessed Nicholas Rynin of Vologda, fool for Christ (1777—1837). The Chapel was built in 1916 instead of a wooden Chapel.
During World War I and the Civil War at the cemetery Bogorodskoe were buried soldiers, who died in the hospitals .
At the beginning of XX century in the south-eastern side of the cemetery there was a Jewish burial.
In the early 1980s, during construction of a new bridge most of the cemetery were filled and all the tombstones were destroyed.
